dncc

the democratic national committee convention will be held just down the road, in denver, this election year. this event will prove to be an historical milestone that will be referenced much like turning point hopeful leaders of the past, such as jfk, took their nominations and charged ahead full-force to the general election. excitement about the impending event is electrifying the dry colorado air.

red rocks

went to see yonder mtn string band last night at red rocks-- one of the greatest venues on the globe, in my opinion. the heat broke around 8:45pm as a light rain fell down upon the crowd. it was a fine night for music and enjoyment.

lapse

me lady and I have moved house in the past two weeks. bye-bye noisy 'hood, hello 1890's house with 10' ceilings and side-yard with an apple tree and grape vines.

still haven't connected to the internets at the new place, hence the lapse in posting. should find remedy to such soon and get back on the gravy train of information and communication.

where would we be without the whirrled wise web (sounds better, don't it)? making phone calls, writing letters, and walking around not knowing answers to questions. sad.

pandora project

i've been having fun listening to the pandora radio projectin recent days. the concept is simple and innovative, type in a artist that you like and you are filtered through subsequent artists that are similar in genre and sound to that who you enjoy.

you are able to then flag each song as a direct hit or a flop, based off of the user-contributed formula of suggested listening. good way to learn about new music within your tastes.

just a bunch of whiny bitches

astronomers have discovered that the earth emits awful, ear-piercing chirps and whistles that could be heard by any aliens who might be listening. the sounds are created by charged particles from the solar wind colliding with earth's magnetic field.

ho-diddy-ho-ho

ain't nothin' like your own mock-ho-ho from one of the finest all-vegan bakeries in the land, watercourseif makes your mouth water just looking at it, don't it?

at the recent veg fest, they had a booth with mini versions of this glycemic monster. i gobbled all i could get my paws on and proceeded to slump in a chair with watery-eyes and a cockeyed grin for a good time afterwards.

irrational emotions

i'm not sure how we wound up there, however i do suppose that it could be called good olde 'surfing the web.'

we were catching up on some news items and then there was a google consultation and after a few random clicks we wound up parousing the phobia list.

it seems after some careful self-diagnosis, that i suffer from phobophobia, mixed with a little hobophobia--that is a phobia of phobias and a fear of becoming a bum on the street. what is your phobia?
