pollination

in september, we curiously purchased a tomato plant start from a local greenhouse. we've had it indoors since then, re-potted it to a larger vessel, and it has been thriving on the interior windowsill. now, it stands about 3 feet tall and has just taken on a few flowers.

if my basic science class knowledge from ames, iowa resounds as clearly as some of the inane recollections of the same time period, then my understanding is that these flowers need to be pollinated prior to this plant bearing fruit. for pollination to happen, one would need a vehicle to carry the pollen--wind or bee. in our confined house, we have neither wind nor bee. my question is this--will the plant produce tomatoes in this "sterile" environment?

as an aside, j.m.r. was here last weekend and said that he would pollinate the plant, but would require some sort of plant magazine to entertain him and get him up to the challenge. heehee.
